Scholar Athlete Award

The annual Nu Chi Chapter Middle School Scholar-Athlete Incentive Program held on June 29, 2023,
was an overwhelming success. This program began in 2006 with the mission of serving as a
motivational and inspirational booster for deserving students residing in the metro east community. The
award recognizes those students who maintain academic excellence and excels as an athlete at a high
level. Central to this program is youth mentoring, which is a key focus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
Fatherhood Initiative and Mentoring program, and the joint efforts of Nu Chi Chapter and Nu Chi
Foundation to our Project Manhood program.
The top male and top female scholar-athletes received a trophy (donated by Doghouse Sports). A check
for $100.00 was given to their parents to conform to amateur athletics sanctions. The recipients
maintained at least a B grade point average, and received the award nomination from their peers,
athletic coaching staff, and school administrators.
